Sunday, July 28th "The Dale Shaw Trial"

Another year has gone since the last above trial, held on the property of Andrew & Joanne Stritch's at Wandin. Congratulations go to Joanne who I was told set out the sections for the day with the help of Mark. Well done to you both! It was also good to see Joanne telling the drivers where the pegs were to be put back. Well done again.

The day started with a rather bumpy first section with Craig Hansen only getting a 4. Heard Lori to say better put it back on the trailer! But after lunch he did even better by getting a 10...driving like there was no tomorrow with that usual big grin...only to follow later with the big "O"...still with the grin...happy days Craig (need the hat)! Greg Cox was having a very similar day early with low scores and a big "O".No one not even his passenger Stephanie Hill told him to go up through the start, not down through the start like he did, but Greg had a very similar grin like you know who..it was his first big "a" so I heard him say Grant Campbell who was 9 points in the lead at lunch tried to keep up with Craig's 10, but only managed an 8...but then he did win the trial with a score of 103 points.Well done. I also noticed Geoff Taylor wearing glasses today??? Geoff was second with 92. Lindsay Mercer who has been driving Keith Mitchell's car while he's been away has been doing very well with his daughter Belinda beside him...he even managed to get 4(1 think) where Grant only got a 2.

The mud section seemed to catch a few, it caught Steve Mason, he was balancing on top of the mud, sitting there with his arms crossed.. thinking???? Steve came third with 91, then there was the hill, not that I saw much, Frank Walters suggested that we climb to the top to see everything...but guess what...it all happened at the bottom. Only a few cars got to the top...at the end of that section I happened to see Andrew Stritch trying to climb it again in front of a video camera. Movie star on the way Andrew???

It was also good to see Wendy Shaw there with Delwyn and families. John Mason was back to help out as a judge... we will see John again at the John Pryce as a judge. Well that will do, Keith's back for the next trial so he can again put pen to paper and I will retire.
