RESULTS

OST 6 Gilderoy Sunday 14th July

Mud trial notes...With Keith away I thought I might put pen to paper and mention a few things about this trial...brought back memories of driving up to Gilderoy. The property was what I would call a "Mud Trial"...nice and wet and muddy...the sections were all pegged in the one area, so not much walking. Three Dams to get everyone wet...which it did.

Craig (Crazy) Hansen kept to his name when getting bogged in the dam and had to be pulled out by the owners tractor...nearly somersaulting into the bargain...bit nerve racking for himself. J.C. then tried to collect a peg floating and landed in the large hole left by C.H. consequently filling his gumboots with water...this seemed to be the theme of the day. At one stage of the day I saw new passenger Jenny and old timer Stephanie wringing out their socks.

The scoring was in the 2's , 4's, and 5's, plenty of the latter, still they all seemed to enjoy their day. Peter Hill went flying which surprised me and broke his front steering which put him out for the last couple of sections. Graham Moyle who had just taken 2 weeks to do up the motor, started up after lunch to go no where...clutch...so now another 2 weeks of work. Lindsay Mercer had a jolly good trial in Keith Mitchell's car...only problem Lindsay said was seeing past the cake tin on the bonnet...well done Lindsay.

Thanks to Mike for the use of the property, next time I will make sure I'm well away from Crazy, and keep the score board clean, it has NEVER been that dirty. Grant had trouble seeing thru the mud...he won on the day. Passenger Lori had 3 drivers, Graham, Steve & Alan. Stephanie - Grant & Greg. Jenny - Craig & Geoff. Lindsay gave his daughter her first thrills. As for seeing the sections, the judges of fact were not to be seen either, but then again I do have my head down most of the day...
