Another Dean Butler entry for HISTORIC WINTON. Perhaps the most famous Grand Prix Maserati of all time. This car was first raced by Tim Birkin and then by Whitney Straight. It has numerous Grand Prix wins to its credit. The engine is a supercharged straight eight displacing 2600ccs. Output is about 180bhp. No idea where the photo was taken but looks fabulous anyway. Winton is just as nice, except maybe a little flatter!

Amazing diversity of machinery at Historic Winton illustrated by the appearance this year of the famous "Rubber Duck" racer following a 16 year restoration by its present owner Grant Cowie. These cars were Austin Seven 'works' cars, one of which lapped Brooklands at 106.9mph. Thanks to 'Motorsnippets' for these pics.
