At the first Phillip Island meeting December 1956, Ray Cann (Ulster) leads Terry Belair (Ford 10 engined Austin Special) from Neil Johannesen in his first
NHEJO Austin 7 Special, coming out of Lane’s MG corner.
The day before race day, Neil used the very low rear cross member to grade tracks through the bush for race communication wires to be run out,
so during the race twigs and grass seeds were flying out from everywhere in the car.
